Copyright
A number of changes have been made to copyright law since the introduction of the ‘Copyright, Designs & Patents Act’ in 1988.
We will be taking the copyright law to consideration when making our documentary. The music, sound and footage in our documentary have to be copyright free as this would ensure no complications arose. We will be using Free Sound Effects from “PartnersInRhyme.com." We researched YouTube’s copyright and infringement laws as we will be using YouTube as a source to get our music, sound and real footage.
YouTube explains… “Copyright infringement occurs when a copyrighted work is reproduced, distributed, performed, publicly displayed or made into a derivative work without the permission of the copyright owner.” From this information it is an absolute must to make sure we use copyright free footage of the riots. We will know if the video or music is copyright protected, as we will see this in the “further information” option.
